Striped

On Saturday we painted my bed room with horizontal stripes, and it turned out AMAZING!

All thanks to my amazingly talented and kind friend Amy and her master-painter skills and multi-tasking abilities. We got the whole room done in one day. She taught me the most amazing painting trick ever! It involves a little caulk to get the crispest lines imaginable. I could not have done this with out her!

I love love love the color and the stripes - Behr Valley Mist. Now when I walk in my room it feels fresh and homey. It definitely doesn't look like a renter's bedroom anymore. Now I am on the hunt for the perfect drapes.

I am so lucky to have such an awesome friend, who would give up their whole saturday to come help me paint. Thanks Amy! You're the Best!!

A Gift for Baby Lindstrom

I made another Coverseat Cover for my friends Richelle. It was a little tricky because they weren't going to find out if it was a boy or girl until the baby was born. It was exciting mystery, but personally I don't think I could have handled it. I had a hard enough time trying to figure out what fabrics to use and not be gender specific. So I bought a little flower clip to make it a little more girlie just in case, and good thing I did.

A gift to you sweetheart, baby Kaitlyn.
{ I just knew you were a girl :) }

Inspiration & Our Ward Cookbook

Been loving this photo and the colors drawn from it.

So I used it as inspiration.

I helped my awesome friend Kristin, with her ward cookbook project. I helped design the cover and title pages in it. Needless to say Kristin is the real hero for collecting and typing up all the different recipes. It took her a year, and I for one ADORE my Tuscany Ward cookbook and and I am so appreciative for her labor of love.

Here are the designs:

I paired a quote to go on the back on each of the Section Title pages to provide a little inspiration while cooking.
I really enjoyed working the project.

If you'd like to make your own cookbook and want to print these to use as the title pages, let me know and I'd be happy to email you the jpeg files :) (It will take a couple emails)

Getting Crafty - A Car Seat Cover

My Sweet friend Amy is about to pop, with her second son, so the pressure was on to finish my gift to her, a car seat cover made by hand and with love. When River was born our friend Mandee made me a cute cover that I loved to death and used even more (Click HERE to see her adorable aprons). Best part -- it had a window that I could peek in to make sure my little dude was doing good. River was born in the winter and in the middle of the sick season, but I felt that my little cover protected him, and gave me peace of mind. I thought it was a thoughtful gift and I wanted to pass along the love.

And here is the end result:

Baby Tested, Baby Approved!! -thanks river-

Details of fabric combo & peeking window.

Amy- I hope your little dude arrives on the scene soon!! Thanks for being an awesome friend! I hope this cover keeps his safe and warm :)

ps. I stole this pic of the car seat cover Mandee made me from her facebook page. Isn't it so cute!?!!

An Owl Quilt For Baby Lincoln

So now that it's been given as a gift and no longer a secret, here are some pictures of the Owl Quilt I made for my Sister's new baby, Lincoln.

She loves the Color combo of Lime Green and Black, hence the Green Feathered Friend. I talked with my friend Sheri, who's an expert quilter, about how to sew in the trim and after a lot of thought I just jumped in and did and I think it's my favorite part.

I found the pattern for the Owl while stalking my other super creative and crafty friend Rachel, on Pinterest. Here's a link to download the Owl Patter from sewsimple.com

Happy Weekending!!
