Hildebrand Ranch Park

Looking for adventure on one of those famous denver "sunny-warm-day-in-between-blizzards" days, we thought we went to South Valley Park, but didn't realize it until after that we actually went to Hildebrand Ranch Park. And it was a muddy mess. River had a great time though. He insisted on holding Charlie's leash (thank you Charlie for being well behaved that day) and seemed to be giving him commands the whole time, Squaking and kicking his feet. So between bossing charlie, unlimited access to cookies, and even getting out to "hike" on his own, He was a Very Happy Hiker.

Coolest park though, was walking into the middle of a Prairie dog town and listening to them warn each other of our presence. If charlie wasn't so completely and totally focused on River's cookies, I believe the squeaking noise would have driven him crazy.

{p.s. I think it's about time to get ourselves a backpack for the kid. Any recommendations?}

 And here is some video of River enjoy his first hiking moments on his own two feet.
Believe me River, because of who your dad is, this is only the beginning of your hiking experience.
