Our last morning, we got up early and ate breakfast at East Beach Grill looking out at the ocean.
River saw a lady who he mistook for his Nana and got all excited calling her name and waving. When the lady didn't come over or respond he was really heart-broken. He hung his head and stuck out his bottom lip in disappointment.
It was really sad, but nothing a little crispy bacon didn't fix.
It was really sad, but nothing a little crispy bacon didn't fix.
We waked along the beach on the way back to our hotel. River loved playing in the surf, and it was all Skyler could do to catch him up as he ran out to meet the waves.
I collected some shells and sea glass. It was the first time I had ever seen sea glass and I could have spent hours combing the beach for the rounded pastel gems, but we didn't have hours.
I laughed as I watched my boys playing in in the sea foam and splashing in the rolling waves, soaking their shorts.
I felt a tug at my heart when I saw the little foot prints River left behind in the sand as he ran up the beach right past me, laughing and fearless.
My little baby is growing up.
He's a miracle you know.
And as we life our life, I am beginning to understand just how big of a miracle he really is.
As I was reading in the scriptures the other day, and the question popped into my mind, "what are the signs and wonders you have seen in your life that have turned your faith to knowledge?"
"River" resounded in my mind and my heart.
I cannot deny God, because I see His Hand, His Power, His Love,
every time I look at my sweet son's face.
And although I am an unworthy servant, I will strive to serve Him.
I am grateful to God everyday for this growing miracle I share with my darling sweetheart.
