A Boy & His Dog - Out Playing in the Backyard

We went out in the backyard to enjoy the last bit of sunlight tonight.

I loved watching River play with Charlie. They have quite the little relationship. River adores Charlie. If he's in a mood, all I have to do is have Charlie come over and River is right as rain. River chases Charlie all over the house and is constantly bugging him whenever Charlie sits or lies down anywhere. River just can't keep his hands off him. Charlie doesn't get much Peace. But Charlie loves his River, and it's more than the food River sneaks him too. Charlie is so gentle and patient with River. . He's so much more protective now, especially when we go on walks. Don't mess with his baby.

It warms my heart how good of a dog he is, especially to my baby. I love our pup.

It was so cute watching them play outside together. River was in heaven playing with Charlie's ball. He know Charlie loves his ball, but doesn't quite know how to throw it, so he ends up just taking to charlie and putting it in his mouth.

Skyler, River and Charlie make up this cute little brotherhood together.
And I love watching them.
Maybe I'll have to get a girl dog or something to balance it out.
But for now I love my house full of boys.

River's new trick is beeping noses. :)

I hope I remember the details.

River's little hands, his funny mullet, the way he scrunches his nose and his tiny toothy smile.
Charlie's soft curly hair and floppy ears, his weight on my legs when we cuddle on the couch, our morning walks, and his gentleness with River.
The way Skyler plays with River and the smiles they exchange; His laugh and the colors of his eyes; the way he looks at me and how we talk all night.

Oh the tiny sweet details that color the days of my life.

Time to go inside.

Take you Down to Chinatown!

Skyler worked on a convention in San Francisco and he brought home the most awesome gifts for River from China Town. River looked so cute in his little outfit, such a handsome little chinaman (is that a bad term? I'm using it as an endearment).  Also sky brought home two balls that make noise and River loves walking all over the house banging and clanging them together.

We're always so glad when our daddy comes home, with or without gifts . . . but the gifts are good too. :)

Our Zoo Membership Rocks!

Today was a Zoo weather day and River boy had a lot of fun running (literally) around with his Buddy Austin & Baby Cade.

First things first, we headed to both Austin's and River's favorite part of the Zoo, the Aquariums to see all the fish and things.
Austin couldn't wait to show us the biggest fish ever, and he was right the Arapaima fish was HUGE.
It was a great start to a fun day.

see the head of the arapaima fish in the background?

River was literally running all over the aquariums with out regard to where he was going or who he was cutting off. He's new to walking and still learning the rules of the road, but he sure is speedy!

Austin was a little surprised when River reached up and grabbed his hand and wouldn't let go. But River was real excited about it.
I thin Austin kinda started to like it and the two walked off together.

Oh the perils of walking with someone who hasn't perfected their technique of walking

Cute lil' blue eyes. So sweet

my son looks a little trailer park here. He must have really needed that bottle.

Thanks Amy, Austin & Baby Cade for a fun day!

I'm planning on wearing out our Zoo membership this year, so if anyone wants to go play at the zoo give us a call. We're more than down!
