Happy Turkey Day!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Of all our thanksgiving tradions, my favorite is that Skyler makes Dinner. Last year, we had just brought River home from the hospital and I was, well, a little out of it. So Sky took the reins and made dinner, and this year he did it again. He makes a delicious spread. In fact we ate so much at dinner that pie had to wait until the next day.
Thank you sweetheart, I am so grateful for you!

We have so many wonderful things to be grateful for. We've been abundantly blessed. Favorite blessings- our cute little family, our miraculous son, and the joy and peace that comes from the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Happy Turkey Day everyone! Gobble Gobble!

Getting Crafty - A Car Seat Cover

My Sweet friend Amy is about to pop, with her second son, so the pressure was on to finish my gift to her, a car seat cover made by hand and with love. When River was born our friend Mandee made me a cute cover that I loved to death and used even more (Click HERE to see her adorable aprons). Best part -- it had a window that I could peek in to make sure my little dude was doing good. River was born in the winter and in the middle of the sick season, but I felt that my little cover protected him, and gave me peace of mind. I thought it was a thoughtful gift and I wanted to pass along the love.

And here is the end result:

Baby Tested, Baby Approved!! -thanks river-

Amy- I hope your little dude arrives on the scene soon!! Thanks for being an awesome friend! I hope this cover keeps his safe and warm :)

ps. I stole this pic of the car seat cover Mandee made me from her facebook page. Isn't it so cute!?!!

Today River got eaten by a Giraffe at the Zoo

Ok maybe it was just a nibble, but I guess River just looked so so yummy.

1. the approach

2. going in for the full on face contact and licking

3. River's reaction, -- duck lips of disgust!

4. Dad's reaction

Hey if this was coming at your face, you would do some duck lips too!

More to come from our Saturday Adventure to the Cheyenne Zoo in Colorado Springs, but this was too good not to share immediately. :)

Little Monsters

The morning after Halloween.

I think I forgot to mention Charlie was cookie Monster.... probably because he fought wearing it, so it didn't last long.

Happy Halloween from our little Polar Bear

This felt like the first Real Halloween in our house. We got all gussied up and went to our Ward Trunk or Treat. So fun to see all our friends, and I definitely think the Calls should win for the best "trunk". We had tasty crispy cream donuts and our awesome star trek bishop gave us killer halloween themed tooth brushes (river got a glow in the dark one).

I have to say I was a little disappointed though because only one person guessed our costumes right. Can you guess our costumes? Are we the only nerds out there? Or maybe we're like ten years behind.

River loved seeing all the people and kids, but it got too cold too quick, so we had to get back in the car before we all froze.

I love having our house for many reasons, but one of my favorites is that i love to see all the trick or treaters, young and not so young. It's so fun! I love seeing their costumes and happy little faces. Some of them are a lot tougher than me because I wouldn't last as long as they do in the cold.
I think Sky will be the one to take River around while I happily hand out candy and sneak a couple pieces too.

And if you need it here's a hint to guessing our costumes:

To my Sweet Grandma Fran

To my sweet Grandma Fran,

who always smelled of flowers,
who could tie a perfect bow,
who was an Artist and a Mother.

You taught me how to be sensitive and communicate
the beautiful things I felt in my heart through my art.

You taught me about unconditionally loving others
and loving friends so dearly they become family.

You taught me the joy that comes from living life
as a true disciple of Jesus Christ.
A believer and doer of His Word.
A quietly powerful influence for Good.

I will strive to live a life that Honors You and continues your legacy.
And that is how I will show my love for you.

Whenever I see a flower in bloom, my heart will smile thinking of you.

xoxo
