Today the gypsy in me was exploding to get out. I've really missed getting out and exploring new places. Don't get me wrong home owning and new mom-ing is a great adventure, but my soul needs to get out and see the world around me.
So by late afternoon I was close to exploding, and my sweet husband jumped up and planned a fun little adventure and we were out the door in a matter of minutes. We headed out to
Castlewood Canyon State Park to explore and stretch our legs.
River got on his adventuring outfit. the Sandals are still a bit too big.
We started with the paved Nature Trail and River in the Jogger stroller.
After a long, exhaustive search we found the perfect floppy sun hat at
Pottery Barn. It's perfect for River's fair white skin.
We jumped back into the car and headed to the west side of the park, where we threw River in the Bjorn and hiked to the Creek bottom. River loved facing forward and seeing where we were going. He kept squeaking and kicking his legs wildly, like he couldn't wait to be running around himself.
Of course Charlie jumped right in and reveled in the fresh flowing water.
River and Skyler weren't far behind him.
Here's some video of River's first dip in water other than a bathtub. (Sorry about the camera work, I was holding charlie's leash at the same time.)
Charlie loves to lead the pack, when we let him. :)
Yes we are now a much happier group of gypsies since we got out for an adventure, especially this Mama.
